No more co.cc domains – says Google

Yes by now google stopped indexing all the sub-domains under co.cc domains. Currently more than 11 million sub-domains are being served with the domain name ending with co.cc, not one of them will be indexed in Google search results. According to one blog post over Google’s official blog, they took this decision to remove over 11 million sites from search index is to reduce spam quantity.

Google thinks all co.cc domains (free) are widely used to create spam sites and for phishing attacks, and hence to improve user search experience – head of the Google anti-spam department (Matt Cutts) is decided to block all the site with co.cc domains.

There are some personal site’s which are not actually spam sites. If you think your site is not breaking google’s TOS by any way, then you may set a site reconsideration request. Or its better to move on other domains.
